- Can It copy a DVD-9 movie to a DVD-5 disc?
Yes, 007 DVD Copy supports compression function. It can compress and copy a DVD-9 movie to a DVD-5 disc, with all contents reserved, without split it to two discs any more. You also can 1:1 copy the original to a DVD-9 disc.
- What do I need to prepare before starting to copy my DVD
movie?
- Ensure the DVD to be copied is clean and not scratched.
- Use high quality recordable DVD disc like Verbatim, CMC, Ritek, Fuji, etc, avoid using cheap discs. Always refer to the DVD writer manufacturer for the list of recommended discs for your DVD writer drive.
- Ensure your hard disk has enough space (4.3 GB at least ).
- If you are using external USB DVD drive, please make sure it is connected to the computer directly without using a USB hub.
- Message about missing DLL on software startup
If you receive an message about an missing Winaspi DLL please
reinstall our software. If you receive an Winaspi error message,

- It can't copy DVD movie to hard disk, why?
In case, that the DVD cannot be recognized, start the DVDs with
a software DVD player and play it for a couple of seconds. Now
the DVD movie has been authorized and you can start the 007
DVD Copy. The DVD player software is not required to run during
the copying process.
- Is there any software conflict with the operation of 007 DVD Copy?
Some anti-virus software may cause errors while burning. If you experience problems while burning, you may need to disable the software temporarily.
- When play the copied DVD, the image jerks from time to time, why?
If you play the DVD and the image jerks from time to time, check if the disc is clean and eventually clean the disc.
- DVD cannot be played by Standalone Player (Hardware Player)?
- Make sure you are using the right type of disc for your hardware player. Some players will only read one of the formats (+ or -) but both.
- Use high quality recordable DVD disc like Verbatim, CMC, Ritek, Fuji, etc, avoid using cheap discs. Always refer to the DVD writer manufacturer for the list of recommended discs for your DVD writer drive.
- You may have to lower the burning speed. Many writers are not compatible with cheap blanks. The quality of some blanks is actually so bad, that the specified maximum speed cannot be reached. Find a combination of writer, disc and player that work together.
- Standalone Player (Hardware Player)
If you play the DVD and the image jerks from time to time, check if the disc is clean. DVD cannot be played: First, reject and re-insert DVD. If that doesn't help, you have to check the media type you have used. If you have used RW media, make sure that your player supports +/- RW media. Some old player do not support the +R format.
- Burning Problems
- If the DVD is empty after the burning process, we suggest that you first, reject and re-insert DVD and check if it is really empty.
- There also might be problem with the quality of the blank disc. Use another blank from another manufacturer or brand. Use high quality recordable DVD disc like Verbatim, CMC, Ritek, Fuji, etc, avoid using cheap discs.
- The burning process aborted unexpectedly but the copy process successfully completed, do I need to start it all over again?
No, the copy process actually stored the DVD files in the [Temporary Working Folder] you specified. To burn those DVD files to the disk directly, please do as follows:
1. Choose [DVD Video Folder] in [Source DVD] option.
2. Set folder in [DVD Video Folder] as the same as folder in [Temporary Working Folder].
3. Finally, click the [Start] button to start burning.
